Health and Safety
In an environment where machines can be manufacturing 15,000 or more boxes an hour and there are guillotines, box stitching machines, gluing machines, die cutting with extremely sharp blades, Health and Safety is of paramount importance. Add to that forklifts, lorries, lots of noise and tonnes of corrugated board and carton board and it is easy to understand why Fencor Group has a dedicated Group Health & Safety/Compliance Manager.
The Group Health and Safety/ Compliance Manager completes weekly audits at all three plants to ensure the focus is kept on safe practice. His role includes the updating of signage, creation and upkeep of safety manuals, safety and safe handling training and fire drills.
The other areas in which our Health and Safety/Compliance Manager has a role are the British Retail Consortium’s hygiene guidelines as well as the Forest Stewardship Council role of protecting the forests.
Overall, the Health and Safety in all our plants may be the Health and Safety Managers job but everyone knows the responsibility lies with all of us as individuals.
